What is Baptism?
Believer’s baptism is the immersion of an individual in water after they have made a personal profession of faith in Jesus. It is administered by and under the authority of the local church. Believer’s baptism is a public symbol of the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior; the believer's death to sin; the burial of the old life; and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus.
- Mark 1:9, "In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John."
- Romans 6:4, "Therefore we were buried with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life."
- Colossians 2:12, "...when you were buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead."
